Yesterday I was painting with my friend. We were talking about how rough our paintings looked at the moment, and how we were glad that unfinished art isn't judged.
One reason is that artists generally don't like to display thier unfinished art because it is a vulnerable thing to do. Another reason is that people know the artist has a concept for the finished work in mind, so it is understood that the painting is not going to stay in this unfinished stage for ever.
We don't judge unfinished masterpieces, so why do we judge people? (why do i judge people??)
Is it because I never knew that people were masterpieces in the first place?
Why do I judge the rough edges of people when I have even rougher edges myself?
Now is the time I could try to write some theological or philosophical answer, but Im going to leave it at this because Im not going to pretend to know all the answers.
